DAZ Studio 4.7 and/or 4.8 Beta taking long to clear a scene

Hey there! I was wondering if someone could help me. I seem to have an issue when I'm clearing a scene. It can take upwards of 45 seconds to a minute for the scene to completely clear itself. I haven't always had this issue, but it crops up and every now and again. It didn't used to happen in the Public Beta version of Studio, but it's now happening there, as well. I don't know if it's something I've installed, a setting I need to adjust, or what have you.

Uninstalling and reinstalling DAZ doesn't seem to help, either. I have a fast enough of computer with plenty of RAM, so I know specifications aren't my problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well... what do you mean by "fast enough" and "plenty of RAM?"

I upgraded from an older machine and tripled my RAM, hexupled my VRAM, and got a 2-gen newer processor, and this went from happening on the old machine to NOT happening on the new one. So at least sometimes it can be caused by your system. But that will depend on your answer to the above question.

I mean 32GB of DDR4 RAM with the 5960X CPU and two GTX Titan Blacks (which probably don't matter in this case). This isn't the only machine that this has happened on, though, and more than that, I wasn't trying to sound smug about it.

In any event, if this has happened to you, what steps did you take to correct it?

Also, if I completely uninstall DAZ and all the DIM stuff, I can reinstall just DAZ, only, and this doesn't seem to happen.

Did you use the first version of Reality 4 plug-in ? There is notable bug in this version...

I create very complex scene inside DazStudio, deleting figure / object take time. I suppose that the undo feature is the explanation.
Most of the time, close dazstudio and open it again is must faster than File/New.

Funnily enough, I don't use Reality. I've tried to close and re-open, but still have the same issue. So far, the only thing that seems to fix it is uninstalling everything. Right now, I've reinstalled about 75% of my stuff using the DIM and have no issue yet, so I'm beginning to think it's something here that I've bought that doesn't mesh well with my PC.

For those wondering, I believe I solved my issue. Seems like, for some odd reason,, Genesis Generation X2 is causing my scenes to take forever to delete (upwards of 60 seconds or more, in some cases). Once I removed it, I no longer had this problem! Just a head's up for anyone in a similar situation.

I've seen similar behavior on scenes that load with missing geometries, or files that show missing or orphaned geometry targets when the hidden portions of the scene are shown. Once it happens you need to quit Studio and re-open or it will continue doing it.

For me, simply quitting and re-opening Studio wasn't enough. Because the deletion of GenX2 seems to have corrected the problem, I assume there's a conflict with some of my saved content and Gen X 1 & 2 (I used to use both, saving content that way, which is where I think the problem lies).

if you have a scene saved on your computer that is a likely culprit try showing the hidden content from the side contextual menu in the content tab and see if there are any "orphaned" settings, these would be on the top level of the list, usually off on their own, not attached to any figure or prop.

Just when I thought I solved the problem, I haven't. No something else is causing this for me.
