D-Force Sim results not rendering!!

This is a strange problem - On DS 4.16, I ran a D-Force sim which includes cloth and strand-based hair.  When I render my post-sim scene, the results look like the simulation has not been run.  Note the shape of the hair and the hemline of the blouse.  The scene is single frame and the sim was run using "Start Bones From Memorized Pose".  What am I doing wrong?  Or is this a bug?

Furthermore, when I save the scene (which takes an inordinately long time) and reload it, the simulation does not persist - I get the pre-sim scene.

Any thoughts or ideas?

  • Did you use the Timeline to run the Simulation? Have the scrubber on the last or near to last position where the sim exists.

    Thanks Catherine3678ab,

No, I did not use the Timeline.  THe number for frames is 1.  I just used "Zero Pose".

  • Okay, well maybe try using the Timeline. Put the figure at "30" - run the sim using the timeline [one of the setting in the Simuation Tab], don't worry if it goes from default to pose, that's okay. When the sim is done, then have the figure at "30" or whichever number you want, and do the render.

  • Thanks Catherine3678ab.  That worked, but why?  In the past, I have been able to a non-animated, "Start Bones from Memorized Pose" sim, and have it render properly.

  • Not everything can be simulated on a dime ;-)
