Can't deselect Keyframe.

Using Daz 4.15. For some reason, when a keyframe was made on an object, I then changed its property to Linear. It of course was highlighted. but upon trying to unhighlight it or deselect it, it remains selected. I unfortunately discovered this when I was unaware it was still selected and started deleting other keyframes, finding out later that it was deleted because of this. My work around is to save the project and close the project then reopen.

Is this a known bug?

  • It's not one I have seen others report. Are you saying you can trigger this at will? If so, what are the simplest steps to do so?

  • Not all objects do this. Mainly I am seeing it with non daz characters like an environment or objects I import in. In the common case, I was using Stonemason's Urban City Block 3 in a Group. I would be translating the city group instead of moving my daz character, which is on a bike. First frame keyframed at -15000mm and at Frame 240 Keyframe at 0. I then change both keyframes to Linear. this is where the last keyframe refuses to unhighlight or deselect.

The other example is the pedal on the bike. This is an imported object. The pedal arms and foot rests are in another group in which the group is rotated. Frame 0 is 0 degrees, Frame 24 is 2880 degrees. I also change its propeties to Linear. Again, frame 240 refuses to unselect. This has been going on for the past 2 day.

I've experienced it. I don't remember what I did to solve it, though.

  • This happens to me ALL THE TIME. It is so frustrating. Any time a have a large animation that I am limiting to a certain frame range, Daz will sometimes select the last keyframes and stubbornly refuse to deselect them until I quit the program and restart.

I also lost a quarter of my keyframes once because of this stupid bug because it still had keyframes selected in another part of the animation that I didn't see because they were outside of my current range.

Sometimes, no matter what I do, e.g. manually marquing frames or right clicking and telling it to deselect all keyframes, it simply will not deselect them. I hate it so much and it is one of the most frustrating parts of animating in Daz.

  • I did just find a solution for the end of timeframe range deselect by extending so the selected keyframe was no longer last selected keyframe. Then I could deselect. Still frustrating.

  • This is such an annoying bug! I can't tell you how many keyframes have been deleted unknowingly until I was ten, fifteen steps ahead, only to have to undo everything to get that keyframe back and then redo all the animation I had to undo. I didn't know about adding an extra frame at the end, I found if you right click in the timeline where all the objects are listed and click refresh, then it deselects the keyframes.

there is also this thing where you cannot get the options to select, copy paste etc to come up just 3 options to refresh (which does nothing) expand and collapse

For me, this happens when no figures or objects are selected in the scene list on the left of the timeline pane. If you select something, all those options come back.
