Backdrops and scenes

What are people using to create backdrops and scenes? I am thinking "Bryce like" scenes with mountains any sun/moon/ planetary bodies etc.

Anyone doing anything with large bodies of water?

Recently I mostly do portait and pin-up style images. So I simply use an image as backdrop along with my figures. Saves a lot of render time :-) And the only thing you have to care about is that your lightning matches the backdrop.

Thanks, Should there be something in your Gallery? It was blank when I clicked on the link.

Currently there are no images in my gallery. I had some, but deleted them, because I was not really satisfied with them. I will upload images again when I have finished some that are worth being watched :-)

    Very nice work!

I need more depth layers and a more complexity in lighting the scene. But your point is well made with your work.

    Thank for sharing.

You could use Bryce to create a backdrop, either 2D or use the Spherical Mapper to create an image to put on a skydome that would then allow reflections to work as well. The results would be very Bryce-like. :-)

I find that putting my setup inside a large primitive cube, really helps the lighting and shadows in my scene. It also provides great bounce lights.

Putting your setup in a large sphere can be lots of fun too. Making the sphere walls reflective, and adding just a couple lights can give your render some extra punch!

    Goog luck! :)

in bought backdrops/scenes I like using the HDR ProSets Yosemite Packs, Fantasy Scene and Lights from the Heroine Fantasy Bundle, and the various addons for the Multiplane Cyclorama, Woodland Realm, and Millennium Environment mostly.
