FavoRatings - new product for a ratings system

I am contemplating the purchase of this new rating system, FavoRatings, for sorting purposes. However, the description does not answer a question of mine. Maybe you all know the answer. Does this work in a DIM-only install? In other words, I never connect DS to the server. I ran a search on Forums under this product name and found that there have already been problems with it. Please advise.

I see no reason it wouldn't work with DIM installed content.
