If you have a clothing item from a vender product that looks too much like a shaped flat plane, is ther any way using the surface dialog to trick the renderer into giving it more of a sense of thickness, like real fabric?
The Thickener plugin is one way to approach it, although it should be noted that if you plan on using dForce, you'll need to do it BEFORE applying the Thickener, or else you are doomed to explosions. There are some good fabric/cloth shaders to give it some extra texture if that's needed, like 4K Fabric Shader presets or iReal Shaders.

I'm thinking especial of the edges, the hem of the fabric.

The thickener is what I want. Have to wait for a sale. Thanks!
