3D Mouse problems

Just purchased the SpaceNavigator 3D wired mouse, loaded the software, and drivers for a Mac Pro and Parallels/Windows 7. Now for the fun part, it does not work in DAZ 3D, though it does work somewhat in Blender. I have loaded and reloaded the software and drivers several times, but to no avail. Has anyone else had problems with 3dconnexion products in DAZ or any other 3D program? I'm wondering if Parallels could be the culprit. What am I missing?

By DAZ 3D do you mean DAZ Studio? If you go to Help>About Installed Plug-ins is the 3D Connection entry ticked and showing a green plug icon?

I looked but couldn't find any reference to 3dconnexion SpaceNavigator mouse.

Look in the Studio install directory...there should be a Plugins subdirectory. In that there should be 2 files...dz3dconnexion and dz3dmouse (dlls for Windows, not sure what the extension would be for Mac). If they aren't there, then the mouse won't show up in the Installed Plugins list that Richard mentioned.

And if they aren't there, then I'm not sure what happened, because I don't have a 3d mouse and I don't like them trying to load and fail, because I don't have the mouse...so I manually disable them (change the extension to ~) every time I install/reinstall Studio...

Although it's not likely, I'd do a file search (at the OS level) to see if they show up in more than one location. Also if you have a case sensitive file system, make sure you don't have two plugins folders...something like plugins/Plugins does not play well on a case sensirive file system...it confuses the heck out Studio.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling DAZ Studio - the 3d Connection plug-in should be installed by default.

You shouldn't need to rename. Just uncheck under Help > About Installed Plugins.

[Edited to correct "check" to "uncheck".]

That makes more sense than what was first posted. ;-P

But, on my system getting them out of the way does speed up initial load time.

And to the original poster, if they aren't there, then like Richard suggested, reinstall. Content shouldn't need to be reinstalled, just the executable.
