Help with Light Rig for cars

Hi there,
I am new to daz studio. I was wondering if anyone new of a good light set-up or light rig I could purchase that would give me a nice even balanced light for rendering cars. Kind of product photography. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Vanessa

I am in no way an expert, but .. I'd got for an overall ambient light at a moderate level (I tend to use Age of Armour's lights pretty much all the time now), with a couple of downward pointing spots (again, I'd use AoA's Advanced Lights).
In addition I would also, probably, retexture most of the car, using things such as Real Paint (I think by DzFire), along with some metal shaders for the chromework, etc., and ensure the glass had low reflectivity and refraction set. And, of course, an environment to be reflected!
I used the material/shader idea here just a bit earlier today - lighting was one ambient and one distant light
If you use DS 4.8 beta and Iray there is an easy setup with mesh lights for interior
1°/ create a cube (10 meters) that will contain your car and adjust the diffuse color (I chose a grey)
2°/ create a plane (10 meter) and place it above the car
3°/ Apply Iray emissive shader on the plane and adjust light temperature and luminance as you wish
I also configured render environment to "scene only"
You could also add some other little meshlights or photometric lights if you want from that point
Otherwise you could use HDR map to light the scene. in dome mode and let the magic of the HDR do the job
Finally you could also use Iray's Sun and sky
Thanks guys for your response. These ideas are really helpful. As I am new. I was just hoping for a light rig I could purchase or download to see how all the lights are actually set-up. Do you know anywhere I might be able to get this? That will make it easier to see how it all comes together for me.
Hope to hear from someone soon..
Having so much fun playing with this software though
Not big, nor clever, but a start ... using only items that come with Daz Studio and thus not relying upon nay purchased products I quickly threw this together (use a Daz primitive cube, UberEnvironement2 and two Daz spotlights) as an example.
The material settings on the cube were adjusted to give a touch of colour and reflectivity to 'add interest'.
I have uploaded it to the gallery and attached the scene subset file so you can download that and try it out for yourself
Hi there,
I would love to give this ago.. I cannot seem to download the scene file though. Everytime I click on download it takes me right back to the user gallery?
Huh ... bizarre, I get a semi-greyed out image with a 'spinner' and none of the links even work at all, so you're one up on me! :)
It's the first time I have added a scene file, so it may be that. I'll have a play. In th emeantime drop me a note with your email address and I'll send it to you.
Nope, it's all images I look at in the gallery!

The spinner/semi-grey comes from blocking the script that loads ShareThis...common with FireFox + NoScript.

Bizarre, it's 'only' just started - well I say that as I fear I do not go to the gallery as often as I should, but it had never done it before. It looks to have been Ghostery doing it and a bit of fiddling around got it back working, thank you.!

The ShareThis script is a fairly recent thing...I know I didn't have that problem in December...but sometime over the past couple of months, I had to unblock it.
I also tried to d/l the scene file, but it was the same. Then I looked around and couldn't find anything like a share setting or something like that, so I'm not sure HOW to actually share anything from the Gallery pages (if it is even really possible?).
