Position object relative to another?

Is there a quick way to copy the X,Y,Z coordinates from one object and apply them to another without filling in all the values by hand?
I am trying to light up this knife with a spotlight but no matter how I try to move the spotlight in the scene I can never get it to where it is anywhere near to the knife.
So I think I need to just put the spot directly where the knife is located, and then back it away a bit and point it at the knife.

Edit>Copy>Copy Selected Item(s), Edit>Paste>Paste To Selected Item(s) (or Paste Pose to Selected item(s))
I tried this and it put the spotlight way off to the side. Not sure if I did it wrong.
I selected the knife, edit>copy>copy selected item(s), then selected the spotlight and edit>paste>paste to selected item(s).
I'll try it in reverse
copy the spotlight first and then paste it to the knife?
this is confusing
Please let us know if it worked for anyone else who might be having this problem
If the knife is parented to the figure's hand just copy/pasting the x,y,z coordinates form knife to spotlight will not work. (I don't know why, so don't ask me.) You have to unparent the knife, then copy it's positon and paste that to the spotlight. Just remember to re-parent the knife to the figure's hand in case you want to re-position them.
One other way to control spot light movement:
You can select spot lights as cameras and then move them like the perspective or normal camera view.
I actually got it to work with a product called PureLight Apocalypse by KindredArts
It has a wearable character light that parents to the figure, or in this case the knife. Seems to work for both figures or objects.
Another nice thing is that the light has a few positioning parameters. One in particular allows you to rotate the light around the object until you have it lit the way you want it. Presto!
Seems like a lot of the stuff in DAZ is so hard to do that you need to spend money on products like this.
You could also parent the light to the knife, with Parent in Place off (check-box at the bottom of the chnage parent dialogue), which would snap the light right on top of the knife.
