daz studio render time difference between "image file" and "new window"?

I'm curious if anyone has ever noticed a render time difference if you chose "image file" versus "new window". I often do the image file option only if I'm leaving my house or leaving it overnight. But I have a current render going on now that is only 50% done in the "new window" option, and it's been 11 hours >.> I need to fix some things but I want to know if I can decrease the render time without changing anything in the scene or in my settings.
Also, since I'm on the topic, once a render is finished, I like to know how long it takes. How can we figure out how long a render took after it's finished and that little window is gone?

I've never done a comparison, but yes people do say there's a speed penalty for rendering to a window.
You can get the render time from the log, Help>Troubleshooting>View Log - jump to the end then scroll or search back to find the details of the render. It would be nice to have a way to show it in the UI, though - you can always make a feature request by opening a Technical Support ticket.
