Question about DIM Installation path

DDCreateDDCreate Posts: 1,398

I had some hard drive problems last year and have things fixed now...sort of. But a problem I'm having is when I purchase things from Daz, I have to manually install to get the files where they need to go, on the correct Drive as the rest of my files. But DIM doesn't know that drive. It's trying to put it on my C Drive which sadly is write protected (I've tried everything to make it writeable, it won't work, let's not get into that)

I did some poking around in DIM and I think I found the spot where I can change the path, but I'm not sure which one it is. I have the attached screen shot. Is the highlighted one the correct one to point DIM to in order to install correctly? I'd just try it and see what happens but when it comes to content files, that's gotten me in trouble in the past.

Thanks for any advice :)

That path is for the software, not the content. You set the path for the content with the "Content Path Shortcuts" drop-down list (they are listed in the box underneath, with an alias and the corresponding path). If your path is not in there, what you do is add a new Content Path using the "+" sign in the bottom left corner. It will open a dialog for you to choose a path to use, then it will be available in the drop-down list of shortcuts.

Thank you North! I HATE manual installing! You're my hero!

You're welcome. Don't forget to set the Library path in DAZ Studio (Content Directory Manager) to look in the same place.
