Nothing will render in 4.20. Everything just comes out solid black picture. Was rendering fine in 4.16.

You almost certainly need to update your nVidia driver.
Nope. Just did it yesterday. Running 511 Studio or something like that. I think I found the problem searching the forums. Ghost (mesh) lights no longer work in Iray. Tried the fix by J11 (can't remember the screen name), it didn't work either but Kindred Arts working on a fix. I hope they hurry. Use ghost lights almost exclusively, now I can't even finish the render. Any way to roll back to 4.16 until the fix is in?
Divide the luminosity by the opacity (just copy the value, then in luminosity type / after the current value and paste in the copied opacity).
I'll give it a try after dinner (or maybe in the morning). Thanks, I'll let you know. Not good with math :)
That doesn't work either. Can I please have 4.16 back. At least that worked with ghost lights.
I had the same issue with 4.20, but it was fixed after installing latest NVIDIA drivers. Make sure you do a clean install and not express install.
I tested some ghost lights and other various lights and it works fine.
Worth a try. I'll post my results. I always just use express install. Fingers crossed.
Unfortunately, no, you have to back up your installation files before you upgrade!
The only way you will be able to roll back is to write a ticket, but chances are they won't give you one as there are tons of tickets made from people that did not back up their installation files and want the original back, this most likely happens every time a new beta/gen release happens...
There really does need to be a sticky about this, as people are most likely clogging up support's backlog with these tickets!
OK, uninstalled the 511 Studio nVidia driver I installed (by express) a couple of days ago and did a clean installation of it. Restarted my computer and tried a render. Zilch. Still no lights. I'm in the dark, literally, on this. Oh, well, gotta be 4:20 somewhere :)
Nope. Never able to get ghost lights working although I did manage to build my own with emissive planes. Now, however, I see Kindred Arts is rolling out a new version of ghost lights that I hope will replace the old, non-working ones. Haven't encountered your problem but sometimes Daz hangs up (locks up) and have to shut down using Task Manager (the old control, ALT, delete method) and start over.
