Render for my new project stuck at 1800x1200 pixels

I just finished putting together a new project and went to render it.  I set the pixel size at W 3200 H 2400 using the Display Standard dimensions.  But the render comes out at 1800x1200 pixels.  I can change the pixel size to much higher values, and get the exact same render.  I tried deleting and re-creating Environment Options and Tonemapper Options, but no change.  I clicked the "Defaults" button, still no change.  I can load an old scene and it renders correctly, and checked my render settings against the old scene but don't see what changed.  It's an outdoor scene and I'm using the Sun-Sky Only environment mode, but I can change that to Scene Only but get the same resolution.  Obviously I changed a setting somewhere, the 1800x1200 sounds like some sort of default setting, but I can't figure out where.  Anybody have any ideas?  Thanks! - TJ

Select your camera, and make sure you have local dimensions (I may be misremembering exactly what the property is called, I'm away from my computer) turned off.

  • That was it, all right.  I was beating myself up checking and rechecking the render settings; I've never used "Dimensions" on the Camera tab and have no idea how it could have gotten turned on.  Many thanks Gordig, that was a real headache!!  - TJ

Are you using a set that preloads cameras?

  • No, I never do.  I use a camera with a headlamp turned on to pose the scene, then create a new camera at that position to render with.  That way, if I want to re-render an old scene, I have a choice of the cameras that I created and positioned to choose from.  It's pretty strange, but now that I know how to fix it, not a biggie.  Thanks again!  - TJ
