Second Daz3D on C drive or onto external drive

Hello Everyone,

I was wondering if it was possible to install Daz3D onto an external drive or install more than one version of Daz3D to the C drive? I ask because I want to be able to run two different Daz and I have found that if one is already active you can not launch a second Daz.

  • Daz Studio has two different release channels (well, at least three, but at least one of those is not available to most users) - currently the Public Build (beta) and General Release are the same but if you still have the installers for an older version of one or both you could update the other channel. You can also back up the zips (application, plug-ins, and probably the Default resources) from Install Manager's Downloads folder (this isn't an option with Daz Central, or if Install Manager is set to delete files after installation) and then if you want to recet to an older version put them back in place of the current files and, with Install Manager working offline so it can't see the newer version, install them from the Ready To Install tab.
