Set Layouts in Daz3D public build beta

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick question, does anyone know how to set or save a layout that will open with Daz3D public build beta? I set up the window how I want it but every time I close the Daz3D public build beta it goes back to the original formate. I like using the Daz3D public build beta because it allows me to work on multiple projects but it is annoying to keep setting up the window each time I use it. Please help.

  • This seems to be an issue, Daz isa ware. For me Daz Studio does remember the current layout between sessions, it just can't save it under a name.

In the regular Daz3D, it will go back to the layout I have loaded but in the beta version every time I close or shut down it will go back to the default layout. I was wondering if there was a way to set or save the layout when I set the layout that works for me in the beta version.

  • Also, can Octane render be added to the beta version?

A temporary workaround, until the build with the fix is released, is to manually create session UI files... %AppData%/DAZ 3D/Studio4 Public Build/customactions.dsx, %AppData%/DAZ 3D/Studio4 Public Build/actions.dsx, %AppData%/DAZ 3D/Studio4 Public Build/layout.dsx, %AppData%/DAZ 3D/Studio4 Public Build/layout.dsa, %AppData%/DAZ 3D/Studio4 Public Build/menus.dsx, %AppData%/DAZ 3D/Studio4 Public Build/toolbars.dsx ...so that "safe write" has something to rename as a temporary backup (and thus proceed with the rest of the routine).

That would mean create files with those names, for example by creating new text files and - with Show Estensions for Known File types enabled in the fiel browser window  #s View options - change their name and extension as in the quote.

Can someone post screen shots? I don't understand.

Not sure how to do that. Is there a way to show how to do this with photos or screenshots? If possible step by step process?

I don't think there is any need to create these files anymore. This was a temporary workaround, as Richard said. The latest 4.20 Public Build has a fix to the problem. Update your 4.20 Public Build.

I have the public version of 420 and my layout resets to default.

4.20.0.3+, rather than 4.20.0.2? Make sure it is the current version (released at the end of the week) and if the issue persists please report that to Daz.

Setting layout in 4.20.011 works fine for me.
