Making the transition from Gen4 figures to Genesis 1...help needed

I am one of the few people out there who, up until last week, jumped onto the Genesis bandwagon. I’m going from Gen4 figures to Genesis because I have programs/plugins that I can use to transfer my character morphs to Genesis. Took me awhile to get the hang of it and also to get my 2 operating systems to consistently see the morphs in question. Currently I am using Carrara 8.5 Pro and Studio 4.7 on a Mac OS X Yosemite desktop and a Windows 7 laptop. It seems like every stage of this process I’ve encountered bugs to have to overcome. One bug was loading a morph onto Genesis, the last of several that I had created. Every time I loaded the morph on my laptop, Studio would crash for no reason. My workaround for that was doing it on my Mac at work. Morph loaded and was saved with no issues. Now my next hurdle seems to be getting my new Genesis characters clothed and loaded into Carrara 8.5 Pro. It seems the bug here is that some of the clothing pieces refuse to load into Carrara. I set everything up in Studio, save it as a scene file, open the file in Carrara. For whatever reason I manage to loose clothing even though everything has been “fit to” Genesis. I get past that hurdle and I’m ready to save in Carrara. Carrara refuses to save the file. I finally figure out with my first character that it was a necklace that was causing the issue. So I move onto the next character. I encounter the same issue. Different character, different set of clothes. So I don’t understand why Carrara is having issues. Tried opening the same file in Carrara on my Mac and encountered the same issues. Carrara finds an ”error” and will not save. So my next option is to export my Genesis character out as an OBJ and load that into Carrara. I’m not too keen on that option. There’s already enough added steps in my new workflow for creating my comic. I might also add that before I started clothing my characters that Carrara had no issues opening the Studio files. I will also add that the clothing I’m using is in my Poser runtime and is for V4 or M4. So what exactly am I doing wrong when I save my Studio files? Which of the many different types of files (Scene, Scene subset, Character, etc) should I be saving as in Studio? I really don’t want to have to dump all of this hard work and go back to using my Gen4 characters again. Help!

Well I GIVE UP! I've tried everything I know to get Genesis to work with GEN4 clothes into Carrara 8.5 to no avail. If I'm going to use Genesis it appears I'll have to export the entire figure clothes and all as an OBJ. I really didnt want to go that route but between Poser GameDev, Studio 4.7 and Carrara 8.5 Pro, I'm not left with much choice because they dont want to work well with one another! And thanks for the help people!
Try Auto-Fit-ting in Studio then save converted clothing as Figure/Prop Asset, delete the converted and load the new asset then save the scene.
I'll try that. All these options just confuse me. Some I can tell what they do from their name but others I have no clue. Sometimes having lots of options is a bad thing...
