Castle Study Texture

I'm not sure where to post this, but I guess here works. I'm looking for the Castle Study texture. I believe it's by RawArt. I know it was here because I had it in my cart like 2 days ago, but had to wait to purchase it - you know how crazy your budget can get during all these sales. I went to look for it today and I'm not finding it. I know it's an older item, but some of us still use and need older items so I'm really hoping it's just a glitch and not a case of stuff getting edged out just because it's older.

I'm hoping someone here in the forums knows something about what happened to it, or maybe I'm just not finding it and it's still somewhere in the store.

Thanks :)

I'm fairly sure that it was a PA item so the best bet would be to contact the Artist.

I know that a lot of the older PC items are being refurbished and updated, which includes the Redhouse Study base set that the castle texture requires. But I don't know whether the add-on is being updated as well. Its release date was all the way back in September 2004.

The Study was updated to DUF in 2014, and that broke some older texture sets. If the Castle Study texture hadn't been updated as well, it wouldn't have worked, so it was probably withdrawn for that reason.

It was a very old set, and as such it was retired.
It was in the store nearly 10 years, been through many sales, so since we just had MM and a storewide 50% off sale, I think it is safe to say that the demand for the set has exhausted itself, and was time to retire. It really would not hold up well to todays standards.

Rather a pity, that. It was a lovely alternate form for the Study.

I really wish more PAs and DAZ would do like Stonemason and warn us when products are about to be retired or archived.

Ditto'ng this -- she had it in her cart, it's apparently not safe to say that the demand for the set had exhausted itself.

Exactly, thank you! I was trying to buy it. If the interest in the older items was 'exhausted' then there wouldn't be any threads asking where it was. And I'm apparently not the only one interested in the older items from Rawart because there is another thread for a different item.

And just because the texture has been around for nearly 10 years, doesn't mean the customers have been around that long - or that they've had the Study for very long. Many people just got it not long ago (it was part of the PC Mega Pack a year ago, and I believe qualified for other PC related sales more recently) and they would now be interested in textures or expansions that already existed for it.

As for the Dragon textures that also disappeared (in the thread I linked to above) - Like I said in that thread, a lot of people are still interested in Millennium Dragon 2 and while I understand that no new textures are going to be made for it, removing existing textures isn't a cool move. You can't just assume that everyone wants the newest thing.

Ultimately it seems DAZ leaves these decisions up to the vendors on if/when/how they should go about retiring items. I understand that they want their best work represented, but if removing them is at a detriment to the overall store, or alienates a demographic of the DAZ customer base then it should be done cautiously and with a warning to potential customers who can then prioritize those items.
