Hi! I was wondering if anyone had some advice on clothing shaders for dark fantasy type clothing? I saw the Dark Worlds Fabrics and Metals Bundle, but I'm not sure I want to pay extra for metals and architechtural shaders -- I already have plenty of those. Apparently you can't just by the cloth shaders, and I can't even see what they look like other than a few, so I'm hesitant to $18 (it is normally $36) for somthing that may or may not work and I don't need 2/3 of it.
In particular, I'm looking for dark designs and patterns, much like Mooncraft's gothic crosses freebies. I have the MMX Exotic Fabric Patterns 1 & 2, but I can't use them for every dress!
Thanks all,
Hexdrake

Maybe these?

I'm quite a fan of a couple of sets from DestinysGarden:

And more expensive, but I really like this set from ARTCollaborations:

As a Daz+ member, there are some fairly decent fabric shaders under https://www.daz3d.com/daz-studio-shaders then filter by "Only show +"
[ETA: you need to take care that you pick Iray shaders not 3Delight - many of the older ones there were 3Delight only - the Iray ones often have "Iray" in their name, or at least in the description/what's included, and if you stick to SKU of 25000 or higher you should be safe]
And before spending too much money, I recommend taking a a look at DestinysGarden's forum thread about texturing - you may find you can make a variety of interesting patterns using the methods shown there. You can pick up some nice tiling patterns from all over the internet for personal use (check the usage rules for any site you find) or you can paint some simple black-and-white patterns to use as overlays yourself in Photoshop/Gimp/whatever, which can be added on top of a plain fabric shader as demonstrated in that thread.
Thanks guys! I'll check those out. I was just getting frustrated with the lack of tools for refining database searches on these sites, so I was hoping someone could refer me to some good ones. The Unique Fabrics and Shaders I definitely plan to get
. Thanks for the tip on setting aside some affordable shaders Melanie! And the link to DestinysGarden's thread is great! A lot of stuff is out there but sometimes you gotta know where to look!
Quasar, thanks for the tips! It seems we have the same taste when it comes to textures, I bought the punk shaders and looked at the worn and torn on your advice and picked those up, too. I think that package is great, especially for the price I got it!
Hey. Happy to help. It's good to know we pointed you in the right direction.![smiley smiley](https://www.daz3d.com/forums/plugins/ckeditor/js/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
