dForce Hair - An opinion/discussion post

Hey all,
Just curious if anyone would be willing to discuss dForce hair renders. My personal favorite, so far, is the dForce long wet hair. Really pulls off the look and feel like a champ. My second favorite would be the Kensington hair. I'd be interested to see what other hair models everyone uses/likes, along with shots of what they look like when simulated :)

I almost exclusively use dForce hair. Some of my recent renders that called for simulated hair:
Repose (Longdrape)
School's Out (Ezra)
Reconnaissance (Ayaan)
En Pointaur (Ingrid)
There's a huge difference between the two types of dForcable hair. Hair made with the dForce cloth engine like the wet hair you mention, and hair made with the dForce strand hair engine like the examples in the next post. I thought DAZ was going to force a naming and labeling convention for these two types, but they seem to have gone back on that and allowed vendors to label cloth hair the same as strand hair. I think that this lack of distinction is cause for much confusion and misunderstanding.
Love those, especially the long drape hair :)
Yeah, Daz didn't do anyone any favors with the naming.
As someone who renders a LOT of canines and uses dForce hair in every render, I think its biggest weakness is how 'sticky' it is. Rendering a dog with its mouth open is always a pain, as the facial fur of the lower jaw and upper jaw get stuck on the face and so the dog now has strings coming from its mouth.
This is not helped by Daz Dog 8 having limited areas in its head to turn off. You literally have to turn off the whole head to disable to mouth strings.
Generally, though, I find it really useful. Especially when rendering feathers.
Rendered this one today, just kinda felt like showing it off :)
Pretty cool!
