I have an image of this fine creation I would like to get into daz, I only have a jpeg of her and have no idea how to create my own characters, but would love to have her animated, how would I accomplish this task?

You can load a jpeg image onto a plane, but since there are no bones or moving parts, you can't animate it.

If you load your image onto a plane, you could view it and a figure at the same time (say Genesis 2 female), and using available morphs, try to get it as close as possible.

What he means is to use the image as a reference material and try to morph Genesis into the figure as best you are able. It all really depends on the image you're trying to copy. If it's fairly simple you might be able to get away with morph packs, but for more complex changes you'll need an external modeler to do the job.

Daz Studio isn't a modeler, it's for manipulating existing models. You can make some basic props by combining primitives and simple deforms, but it's not advanced enough to do much else.

If the jpg has enough skin showing, especially the face, you may be able to use that to develop your skin texture, but that is a small, small part of the total work involved. Another character rather than Genesis may give you a better starting point depending on thw style (realistic, anime, western style toon, etc.)

As an alternative, have you considered a 2D animation approach?

What modeler should I try, also a 2d animation approach not really, I want to be able to eventually create an stl file or files from my work, I will go through more of the daz tuts and do more learning as I try accomplish this task. thanks for the replys

If you are trying to make an stl to do a 3D print of an actual person you might be better of looking at Autodesk 123D catch.
It has an iPad and android version too.
You scan the person in by taking many photos around them in a circular motion then it stiches them in a cloud based app to make a 3D object.
It is not animatable but you get your subject to pose how you want for the scan and it can then be printed via them for quite a fee or yourself with a 3D printer.
Getting the initial model to turn out nicely is the hardest part, an overcast day and very well planned shots help.
It is exportable as an obj too.
You could still import that obj into DAZ too as a still prop.

I want to make the stl file from an image or character that was designed on the internet or several, so I already came across this but have no idea how I could get the jpeg image file to become the stl file so its printable

Well you cannot really make a 3D model from one image
the best you could do is use it as a reference to make one
singular inversions facegen will allow you to create a head based on it that can be rotated and images exported so you could possibly use those in 123D catch to generate a bald head!
It has a logo on the forehead though.
The paid obj exporter is very expensive.
For around $100 you can buy an exporter for the free verson to morph DAZ genesis head using it, there is a demo version that stamps your head with a logo on the forehead, or you can buy faceshop another app from DAZ that is probably more suited, it is in the process of being updated to use G2M and F.
You need to still morph the body and need a bit of familiarity using DAZ

I have more than one image of one of the models, I have bald head front shot and side shots and the body front and back and side maybI could do it with that figure? Also if I purchased content from the daz store would the models then be easy to turn into stl? because they could be saved as an stl in daz being already in the proper format?

None of it would be easy and there are EULA considerations using DAZ models for 3D printing too unless your own printer for personal use.
The mesh also has to be "watertight" and converted to an stl with another program.
    Sorry no easy answers.

I myself am looking to buy a 3D printer and still am not going to find it easy!!
I have been using DAZ for 6 years and doubt I could do a passable model of myself and I have Zbrush (am still noob at that)

At the moment all the things I create are for my own personal use, but when I become more competent with using the softwares ect I will then hopefully in the not to distant future create my own work, the idea of using the materials of others is purely for learning purposes, I would 3d print some models to see how my printer handles and works them and what the outcome is like from the finished article point of view, but you can create stl files of the daz models for print through daz studio?

I have created a few 3d prints so far and some have come out good and wish to see how far I can take things. The tech is amazing but 6 years that is a long time.

I am not terribly good at morphing a character to look like myself as too judgemental, can do a much better job making one look like another person.

In summary this is probably a lot more effort than you're likely interested in putting in. There is no simple way to turn the 2D into 3D, even with a ton of references.

So when you buy content from the store its already 3d ready? so then I can just model and make 3d work with the sets I buy?
