Bundles - no more free goodies?

Really just a thread to lament the bundle offers these days... I miss the days of collecting old pro-bundles when paying full price for a new one.

Now I get to pay a ridiculous $171.48 for a Kola 8.1 Mega Bundle, with the bonus of paying even more money for a bunch of poses? Seriously?

    I collected some early G8 Bundles, and I'm unsure if I regret it or not. A lot of the stuff, mainly the bonus characters, where stuff I've never bothered to download. So felt like a waste just getting stuff I'll never use. And that was just adding more pages to my Product Library to sift through. At the sane time, there's been many times I've seen some cool kitbashed outfit, and it turns out I own the parts of it because they were in the bundles. With the exception of very specific assets I would need modeled, like very long curly hair for guys, I feel like I have just about everything related to human characters that I could possibly need. So the decreased offers don't bother me.

    ...I still feel the best bundle deal was the YoungTeens5 Pro Bundle as you got two base figures, characters/morphs for each, clothing for each, and poses/expressions for each

    Guess things are just continuing this way... nothing extra for buying these pricey Leanne 8.1 bundles except for a 60-65% discount on some additional items. Seriously Daz?

    As someone who was new to DAZ, those early Genesis 8 bundle sales were awesome. You buy a G8 pro bundle, you get 3 previous pro bundles (eg. Victoria 8 Pro give you V5,V6 and V7 pro bundles) and a high discount for new stuff. I don't know how marketing would make these new pro bundles more enticing.

    I used to get a banner for every bundle, now nothing. I let my PC+ Membership drop because they never bothered to have the sale on it. A lot of us asked, but were ignored.

    It's a shame because if I got my normal discounts plus some decent freebies, this most recent bundle would have been an insta-buy.

    No paying for a bundle $210, with no freebies

    I've decided Daz is doing me a favour. I was hooked, now less so. I assume this model works for them, but as it doesn't for me, I'll just have to wait.

    Yes. This is not a good sign. When hobbyists start sitting it out & rethinking how they spend money, it doesn't go to a good place.

    High prices + load time for more morphs = we are super picky about people we buy. Instead of just snatching up any girl that looks cute like when I first started, I open up my reference program that is full of promos of what I already have installed and make sure it's not similar to someone I already have. There used to be vendors that I snatched up every person they put out, that's not the case anymore these days. Probably why we have money to upgrade hardware once in a while now lol.

    I'm using the morphs i have to make my own characters. Have a couple MR skin textures plus Skin Builder. Trying to learn how to extend the skin with blemishes, etc etc. Pores. The tools are there to not have to buy every new Dick and Jane that get released. With so many past bundels and characters I have enough skin to last years and years. Rebuying the same content every new bundle is getting way too expensive. 

    Yeah, I miss the old sales too. Thats OK though. I' m finally starting to save money.

    I miss Pro Bundles.

    Freebies are always nice, but I bought a lot of em 'cause I liked what they offered.

    I don't recall the last time I bougth a budle? I think once since the Pro ones stopped.

    I spent $60ish dollars elsewhere on one item a few days ago.

    I haven't spent $60 at Daz this year; hell, I haven't spent $6. I haven't bought a gift card in over a year, and have not been incentivised during the less than impressive offers recently.

    ... It's sad really. I liked collecting Daz stuff; I enjoyed finding bargains, and was happy to pay release prices. The quality was good; the quality control was great. The last year or so - not so much.

    I'm kinda happy not to buy any new bundles. I was spending too much money the last 5 years. I got back into Lego a couple months ago, after 38 years. And I have been able to use the money I usually use on Daz and got some nice sets. Thank you Daz!  ;)  I still spend at least 50.00 usd a month on Daz productsthat I have yet to actually use though. lol

    The deal for Kota 8.1 was very good. I don't rememeber exactly what the deal was anymore, but it was good enough for me to buy a bundle, and I'm generally not a bundle buyer (and of course I love Kota).

    So it's up and down... but mostly down lately, it seems.
