G8 Iray Uber tear geometry materials

Hi, is there anyone who is generous enough to share his/her settings of the G8 tear geometry materials (Iray Uber)? I find the default G8M and G8F setting so metallic and overly reflective under strong light. Thank you very much.

I assume you're talking about G8.1 figures since the 8.0 figures don't have tear geometry.  If so, I just use the iray uber water shader from the default DAZ materials if I don't like the look of the tear on whatever figure.  For whatever it's worth, a tear should be  quite reflective.

Hi, thanks for the tip! I was talking about G8 (not G8.1), to me the 'tear geometry' is that little fat worm attached to the lower eyelashes.

BTW you can apply the 8.1 tear to regular 8. No fit needed. Just go to the scene identification and switch the compat base to 8. Save as a new prop with a new name. Boom, you now have the 8.1 tear fully functional for 8.0. I also find adding smoothing to the tear prop helps it conform better as you pose the eyes. I keep using G8 often, but I use the 8.1 tear prop universally on them. I like the 8.1 tear because I think it blends the lacrimal in better.

If you have a character that has a tear that looks good to you, you can copy that surface and paste on your character's tear. You can also copy a cornea or eye moisture surface, too, since they are usually some sort of water like shader.

You can also apply any shader to anything by holding CTRL down when you double click the shader. A box pops and you have a toggle option to keep most of your textures in place. You can use this on the tear prop, too, by using a shader that might otherwise add a texture.
