when you in a dark room in DAZ, almost everything can not be seen, what is your feeling? Panic? Believe everyone has the same experience before.
ctrl+L to turn on the headlamp? That is just a headlamp, not really lighting the whole room.
Well, DAZ has its default function to let you see everything in a dark room as normal, but most people don't know this.
It called ' !UberEnvironment2 Base ', search it in content library, and double click it when you in a dark room, then everything show up. I already put it in my script menu for convenience.

All that does is load up a 3DL dome and distant light. Maybe just create a distant light?
No, the UE2 adds global lighting that OpenGL understands, so AFAIK this is a good tip for IRay users to lighten up texture shaded view, just remember to delete or hide it before rendering.
or make it invisible in render
I use an AoA light don't need to remeber to hide it or turn it off before rendering as Iray doesn't recognise it.
I'm not sure if this is what you need, but this always works for me. Please see attached screen shot. Just click the little yellow lightbulb off.
My preferred option is to use the 'AreaLight - HeadLamp Blocker' from one of Omnifreaker's UberAreaLights
Yes that's the Preview Lights icon and the shortcut is CTRL-L ... that's what I use most of the time but I must admit that I hadn't thought of using 3DL lighting which would be invisible to IRay renders, I will give that a try too.
One time, I was in a completely dark DAZ room and there was a biguana in there. If it wasn't for my vinyl boots and bikini armor, I might have been eaten.
+1 ( we still don't have a like or thumbs up button for posts that make us smile and giggle a little)
Of course, when wandering into a darkened room, you also have to avoid getting eaten by a gru.
..I just have a second (work) camera at the same location as the render camera with the headlamp on that I can switch to.
