Sky Light Through Window

Please see my attached screenshot.  The sky dome is lighting outside but the light isn't coming through the window.  Am I supposed to change a setting somewhere?

First make sure window material y glass, Glass - Thin Clear would work.

Next, try to lower Exposure Value, by doing this you'll start to lose outdoor details, but interior will get enough light.

  • Thank you for the response.  It seems crazy to me that I should have to turn up the outside to a blinding white blur in order to get even a small amount of light inside, but I guess I need to not think about Daz in terms of realism.

In order to capture outside details you will need to light up the room from the inside.

I cheat and put a ghost light just inside the window. That way you can adjust the two levels of lighting separately while keeping the shadows in the right place. I bought my ghost light set but you can also make your own out of primitives if you want.

Iray is like a manual camera.  If you've ever done any photography with a manual DSLR camera it makes a lot more sense.  Indoor photography either requires a seemingly ridiculous amount of artificial light or fairly extreme exposure settings.  Your eye automatically makes that kind of adjustment, as do modern automatic type cameras.
