To anything whether it be characters/props/clothes is the process the same? I've never actually done it before but are they basically the same as shaders?!? what is the straight up process for it and where do you commonly find materials to add please. Sorry for the bombardment of questions here lmao!!!

Just have the item selected and apply the materials (select the figure if it's a hierarchical or h. Material). You don't need to have the surface selected like you do with a shader.

     Where are these materials though?!

Oh, I assumed you were asking because you had some materials you wanted to apply. Do you mean where are they in my content library/smart content, or where are they in the store?

where are they anywhere LOL I mainly just wanted a brief guide on how to apply them was all if you'd be so kind.

  • Does the item come with materials? Is it a daz product, and did you install in a way thata dded it to the Content Management System (through Daz Studio, Install manager, or Daz Central or manually and then import metadata)?

I normally use a stupid idea, select any related 'thing' in the Smart content/Files, right click- show assets in- Content Library Products, then go to Content Library, right click the 'thing', show assets in- Smart content/Products.

Now go to the Smart content/Products, you will see a category of Material if the product has, all materials are in there, double click anyone you want.

That is really rediculous, but I don't know other efficiency idea.
