Iray Environment settings conspicuously absent

So, something I've noticed which is more of an inconvenience than a roadblock is some inconsistency with Iray render settings. Specifically, the environment settings. By default, Daz Studio does not appear to include the environment settings in the list (see images below). There's an 'environment' tab, but this only provides simple settings for putting a flat image in the background. No HDRI maps, no volumetric ground fog settings, nothing.

However, whenever I load in a preset which already had those settings changed, or use one from the library, suddenly the settings reappear, including the fog! Just wondering if anyone else has noticed or encountered it, and if so is there a way to ensure the environment settings are there by default? I don't mind adding in presets, but it's an extra step that seems pointless if I'm just going to change all the settings anyway.

  • The settings will not appear until you add an Environment Options node from the Create menu or do a render. The same is true of the Tone Mapper and Filament options

  • Thanks, thought I was going crazy. Just to make sure I'm not going completely insane, has it always been that way, or was it changed at some point? Either way, I found the option and all is well. Problem solved, though I daresay humble pie is on the menu for not figuring it out sooner.

  • This is a moderately recent change.
