looking for Genesis 8.1 Male template

Hi all again

So as it says up top I am looking for a Genesis 8.1 Male template (simples LOL)

for a project any help would be welcome

    The official ones are in your account Product Library:

    Or there are fancier ones (they have coloured areas show where the seams join, etc) by SnowSultan - go here, follow the link to Googledrive and pick the G3M ones (the UV mapping is pretty much identical to G8M)

    The templates Melanie linked from SnowSultan are excellent, but keep in mind that with Genesis 8.1 the torso surface was split into two maps (head and body). The Body map matches Genesis 8/3 lower torso map (from more or less the clavicle downwards only. The head map from Genesis 8.1 encompasses the head and neck area of the character. So you can certainly use SnowSultan's templates up to a certain extent when it comes to Genesis 8.1.

    Yes, I'm sorry - I just realised that you asked about G8.1M not G8M. So there isn't an official template available (nor a SnowSultan one) for the new 8.1 UV layouts.

    Best suggestion might be to export an .obj to Blender (or any other modelling application you may have) and display and export the maps from there. Note you can display the UV maps for each surface within Daz Studio itself, but the highest resolution you can get is limited to the size of your viewport. You'd need to select the Head surface and display the UV map (it's an option from the drop-down camera list I think) and take a screenshot.

    You can still get the 8.1 uv templates from the Product Library, though. My observation was only when it came to SnowSultan Seams guide.

    Ah I didn't realise that the Genesis8Male templates include both G8M and G8.1M now - they must have updated since I downloaded them (admittedly that would have been a couple of years ago).

    Also, G8.1 still has the G8 UV, so if there are better resources available for that, there's no harm in building your skin on the G8 UV instead.
