How do I open or close both or one eye of genesis?

I have entered open and close in oparameters search and nothing comes up

  • Try clicking on the Head and/or each eye.

There should be an "Eyes Closed" and an "Eyes Closed L" and "Eyes Closed R" - I don't have my desktop switched on, so can't check exactly where, but they should be under Actor-Head (possibly -Face). There's no "Eyes Open" - that's the default.

If you want to get right down to the basics go to the "upper face rig," a subsection of the head and move the eyelids. Its not particularly easy as each eyelid has three separate parts. However it is useful to zero the eyes if a previous pose has messed them up.

Those can be found in "/Pose Controls/Head/Eyes"

If you disable limits or set minimum value to -100% (or -1), the dial function is reversed with negative values = Eyes Open

I find that if you have set negative values in the limits it is usually a sign that a previous one click expression has messed up your upper face rig. Hence I usually go to the upper face rig and zero the settings first. A good "zero expression" commercial pose would also do the same with less work.

Another sign that your upper face rig is messed up is if the eyes are looking to the side when the "look left-right" slider is in the middle.

    Best regards,

    Matt

MelanieL's post above me is fully on the mark.

When working with older characters you always need to go back to your basics. Genesis is still a huge favorite of mine despite it's age ("what it may lack in features due to age it makes up for with flexibility"), and yah: select the head, check your parameters tab and you'll find your pose controls to do this.

OR....  now this is far fetched for sure but if you have a 3D editor.. even Hexagon could do (though that has quite a bit of a learning curve) you could even make your own morph and apply that. Don't forget to save ;)

Seriously, these small details were the first things I targeted when I grabbed a 3d editor of my liking, and then I just started messing around. It can be an alternative too, though not an easy one.

Oh you think hexagon has a harder learning curve than blender? I just know a little but I watch videos on it becasue it's my favortite interface of 3d editors-but doent it work easier going back and forth wit hstudio?

Yeah I like genesis a lot too, that you can fit m/v 4 and david 3 clothes

That will depend on the learner, and what they are trying to learn, from what source.
