Z Sauna Retreat - Can't even lit the scene !

In the product page of Z Sauna Retreat it states that in one click the scene is ready for render because apparently the lights are already set up.

Its totally false, the scene uploads in pitch black.  I crank up luminence by millions, still pitch black.  I add ghost lights in the scene, still renders pitch black....

What exactly am I missing here ? Why my renders are pitch black even though I had lights on my own ??

Yes in my render settings it is set to : Dome and scene....

One thing to keep in mind, many products that use ghost lights or emissives are going to have issues in 4.20 snce it changed how they work. Not saying that is the case here, but if it has lights, try cranking the lumens up to a really nigh number to see if you can get them working.

The lights in the celling have their luminence cranked up to 2 000 000 000.0 and still doesnt make any difference.

What are you using for "Environment Mode"?

Dome and scene, as stated in my original post.

I don't have the set to test, but is there a chance the camera somehow ended up inside a wall? It looks like there's a window so if you point the camera at the window and don't see the outside environment light it sounds like the problem isn't with the set itself necessarily (or at least not the light set up).

    I got that one.

It's lit with 9 candles and 5 wall sconces inside an enclosed room.No windows, none.

No ceiling lights that I see, though I wouldn't expect them in a sauna.

Yes, some do have them, most won't.

The sconces don't use opacity in the emission settings, but the candles do.

Not that the candles are going to light a room that big anyway.

As the photographer in your digital world, you will need to make some adjustments to your digital world camera so you can take the picture inside a sealed sauna room.

If you go to Render Settings>Tone Mapping. You can change the "camera" settings to allow more light into the "camera".

Couple ways to do this that are Daz Studio only and have no equivalent in the real world.

Lower the f/stop to something like 1.2

    or

Lower the Exposer Value to something like 5 or 6

    or

Raise the Film ISO to around 400 or so

    f/stop around 3

    and Shutter speed around 50

These settings should get you started, but may not be exactly what you like.Change them as you want to get the light you like

Indoor scenes can be hard to get the settings for your "picture" correct, but after a little practice it gets easier.

I should note that the default tone mapping is for a well lit outdoor area.Like a beach in the middle of the day.

Real cameras do have these settings, just that DS does it differently.

You would need to adjust your real world camera aswell for each environment.

You're telling me the frosted panel with the trees in the promo is a flat image hanging on the wall, not a window and environment? Weird design.

Anyway, one-click load and render should include the necessary rendering setting adjustments, but I know the store doesn't require that like it should so that doesn't surprise me. I'd still expect luminance on emissive surfaces cranked that high to show something other than pitch black in the render unless there is another problem going on, but hopefully fixing the render settings is all it takes.

    ooopps.

I guess I loaded the other Z sauna room :)

I got the right one loaded this time, and yeah, it a low opacity setting on the ceiling light emissives.

Which doesn't make any sense, because even with the opacity set to 1 you can't see the plane used for the light emitter anyway.

So, for this set anyway, you can just turn the opacity to 1 and be done.

Default tone mapping, just set the opacity to 1 like in my screenshot.

Are you rendering through perspective view?  Does the scene load with cameras provided?  Have you tried rendering with a camera?

I just returned a light set product that was click 'n render because I couldn't get ANY light out of any of the lights.

As far as tone mapping is concerned, all you have to do is set "cm^2 Factor" to 10 and "ISO" to 400 for interior scenes, if the scene is still dark, the problem is elsewhere

Just wondering, was it a set that used "ghost lights" and did you update to the newest version of Studio?

Just to exclude this as a possible problem - since you mention that you get zero light even when you add in your own lights... is your Camera stuck in a wall? Meaning, if you zoom in, does that make any difference?

May need to update GPU drivers if you haven't already.
