Figure ID for clothing/hair?

Is there a way to label items that don't show up in smart content according to what figure they are for? Or to get them ID'd as belonging to a particular figure so they will show up in smart content?

    I would assume it has to do with the metadata, but that's all I can contribute since I never use smart content

    This is old, but it might help

    The items need to be set to be compatible with whatever they are compatible with, and categorised.

    Very helpful video. Is the same process used for character morphs? I am trying to associate the Freak 4 with Michael 4 but can't get the body/face morphs to load onto the Mf figure.
