[Now Available] Naval Uniforms for Genesis 2 Male(s) [Commercial]

I am so excited to have finally finished this project, which I started more than a year ago. Well, longer, sort of. Back in 2004, I made a Navy Uniform for M3, which sold at another market place. I started an updated uniform just after Michael 6 and Genesis 2 male became available, but was never happy with the modeling I did.

Now, I am happy with it, and I hope you will be, too! There will be the "dress blue" uniform as well as a complimentary white version. The white version is not technically accurate, but I never like to give just one texture option. Both uniforms have rank insignia for 1st Class - 3rd Class Petty Officers as well.

Finally, I made an add-on with dirty, slimy, bloody textures for zombies and shipwreck victims :) I am expecting the uniform and add-on to hit the store soon, and I couldn't wait to share some renders with you.

They look really great. Is there any chance there will be options for medals and to change the rank?

I didn't include medals, mostly because there wasn't time, and also because I wouldn't be able to use real ribbon designs (they are copyrighted or something) and it seems like they have every option covered, lol. As for changing rank (known as rate when talking about enlisted Navy personnel), there are options for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Class Petty Officers. That is E4-E6... anything above that wears a different uniform. If you are referring to the emblem located above the chevrons on the patch, I put a generic anchor there, which you could change in a program like Gimp or Photoshop. There would have been too many separate texture files for me to do more options, which would make a huge file. You can see the patch on the second picture here.

Oh, fantastic! The damaged version gives it many more uses. Will there be a version for G2F? I'm unsure if that's what female personnel in the US Navy wear, but they do serve on ships, if my memory serves right.

I didn't intend to make a female version... so many people commented that there are not enough things for Genesis 2 Male, I focused exclusively on him. The female uniforms (at least in 1988 when I joined the Navy) are completely different from the male uniform, so I would have to start from scratch, rather than converting any of this work to a female version. It's not out of the question, though.

Very nice. I'd love to see a "sequel" to this that had Naval Officers.

Again, the uniform would be completely different. The female officers' uniform is the same as the female enlisted uniform, but with different rank insignia and a few different details like button color, etc. To make officers' uniforms for both genders would be a big job, but I will not rule it out. It all depends on the success of the product I have already put out. To be honest, if there does not appear to be a big reaction to a military uniform like this, it would mean diverting effort into another product that would probably sell even less than this one does. I don't know, honestly. I will have to think about it.

Very nice, but I would like a British style of uniform.

I will take a look at the British version of the enlisted Navy uniform. I don't imagine it is hugely different from this. Maybe I can create another add-on/extension. "Navy Uniforms of the World" or something like that. I will consider it, greatly.

To my knowledge this kind of uniform have front button pants. And from the first two pictures it looks like, that your pants have also this kind of buttons. Can the front be opened, maybe with different options like left side open, right side open , both sides open?

The buttons are there, but no the flap will not open. I originally tried to model it that way, but honestly it created so many problems that it wasn't worth it. I couldn't see any reason to make the front open up, unless your sailor needed to relieve himself :) and I have too much respect for the uniform that I wore serving my country to make that a "must have" option.

You need a seaman rank and you should think to add the dungaree uniform.

If you are doing scenes of working sailors the dungaree uniform is required. The seaman rank is the most prominent rank in the Navy (3 diagonal parallel stripes, up direction front to back)

The uniforms you have - sailors always had 1, 2, or 3 strips left arm on Dress Blue and White.

Never blank rank insignia on left arm for either Dress Blue or White uniforms.

Dungaree uniforms no rank on sleeve for less than 3rd class petty officer.

The new uniforms - camo blue, what for. I am sure sailors in Iraq were hard to see in their camo. LOL

You have done great looking Navy clothing.

Back when these were the uniforms you felt Navy. The traditional items, the back flap, the 13 button trousers, the bell bottoms, the piping on the Dress Blues, the tapered collar and the inverted seam of the trousers. No one wore clothing this unique, Navy was different.

I'd love a British uniform too. But the new No.4 AWD the Navy announced last month is very different to the old style: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-31950420

You are right on all accounts concerning the seaman markings. I did not include them because it would have meant 3 more textures for each version, and the file size on this product is already so large. With a blank sleeve it is much easier to add the hash marks than it would be for a user to add the chevrons and eagle.

As for the dungarees, again you are right, and I might make that uniform as well, but to have included it with this product would have made it too expensive and would have added a lot of time to production. I tried to include as much as I could to give people a uniform to work with that doesn't currently exist in the market. I would have loved to make all 5 enlisted uniforms as well as the female versions and a sea bag and dog tags and all of the other gear, but that is a lot to do :)

Thank you for the kind words. We will see about providing more.
