dForce Lyanna Hair

Is this hair strand based? Doesn't seem that way, but all other HM hairs I have are sb.

This info should be clearly stated on the product page, I don't want to buy one of these by mistake as I never use them.

It says it comes with simulation settings, so I would say yes. Why don't you use dforce hair? It's all I buy now. You could always pick it up and if it doesn't work for you return it within 30 days.

dForce cloth hair might also haev simulation settings, but it does look to be strand-based.

Yeah, I use dforce, but only cloth hair. Many of those have sim settings as well. Not being able to preview the hair without massive stutter and load times is a pain for anything other than simple scenes.

This one looks different to me and it doesn't have the usual thick / thin and quality settings listed that the other hairs have, but that may not mean anything.

It says dforce cloth in Compatible Software.

Thought I'd missed a strand based hair, but as it's cloth - I might pass. It does look good though.

@nicstt Didn't notice it mentioned there before, but I don't know if that's correct. Hel Hair from the same PA has dforce cloth mentioned there and that one is strand based.

If it is dForce cloth then I will wish list it (I will not buy at just 20% off). In my experience dForce cloth hair takes a fraction of the resources needed by SBH dForce hair, and IMHO the end result looks better.

    What does "cloth hair" mean?

Non strand based. It was the dforce standard before the strand based hair was developed

For what its worth, I find all of the HM hairs to be resource-light in their default configuration. My laptop with a potato 960m GPU can do simulations and renders with them in reasonable (for a potato laptop) amounts of time. I don't think they have the "realism" factor that you get with the Linday deForce hairs, but I really like them for stylized work.

Yeah, I love HM's hairs (heck, pretty much everything they do I love). I try to get them all as they really seem quicker and such to render.

The PhilW hair is one of my favourite; it is very versatile.

It's strand based and simulates in a few seconds (comparison between 980ti and 3090 is not much difference), and renders in a decent time too. I certainly have cloth and geom hair taking as long and longer. I find that getting geom hair to look real can easily take up any time-savings in other aspects.

Sometimes though, a certain pose, with a certain colour and it can also be very quick.
