How to Add A head of One Character with body of Another?

Hi,
I have 2 figures: Genesis 8 Male and Ape World Gorilla for Genesis 8 Male.

I want to attach the Head of the Gorilla with the Body of Genesis 8 Male.

Is it possible? Please note the Gorilla Dials change the complete body and has no separate dial for head.

Thanks!

While there are tools that can split morphs into different body parts, I'm not going to recommend them here, as I don't believe the results will be satisfactory. It's a very heavy morph (which don't split well) and presumably with an HD component (which cannot be split by end users), so I think that what you want to do is for practical purposes impossible.

Maybe you can try this (Shape Splitter), and let us know if it works.

Thanks, but will it work on Genesis 8 figureS?

yes, I have used it a few times and it worked great for my uses. besides, if it doesn't work for you, there is a return policy

Since they are both G8 models shouldn't you be able to dial the body and head separately? The fur would be an issue I assume, but rendering twice and compositing in photoshop could work.

Rawart doesn't usually have seperate head and body morphs for his products

If it's for a still image you can kitbash two seperate figures. A lot will depend on how you conceal the join.

    And postwork is your friend.

If for a still image you can do two renders, one with the ape and the other with G8 in the same position and then combine them in Photoshop.

Alternatively, check out Richard's comment in https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/554206/the-parting-of-the-lips

The headsplit deformer and Morph Loader Pro import / Attenuate By / dForm was news to me.

I use heads from different generations of figures ALL THE TIME.  If there's no separate head and body on a figure, try the SURFACES pane - it may be able to make the head or body invisible - I believe the slider is OPACITY CUTOUT or something similar.  I have also got rid of a body by scaleing each body part to 1% - so that the entire body I want to hide disappears inside the body of the body I DO want to use.  I don't buy figures anymore that have restrictions on them - like NO separate sliders dividing the head from the body.

If you just want the head of the gorilla, you could use Gorilla for G8M; assuming that has sepearte head and body morphs. I don't have it myself, but the old one for G1 did.
