Any way to separate or add body parts?

Hi all and thank you for any advice you may have

I use DAZ to make still images with genesis 8 or 8.1 figures.

I would like to make geometric arrangements of body parts: for example like a chandelier made of arms and legs.  I am also interested in creating figures with extra limbs or body parts. The cherry on top would be if these parts retain their poseability (rigging?) after they have been chopped off and/or stuck back on. If they have to lose their poseability, I think I could still do what I need.

Thanks again!

If you want to do all this within DAZ you will need to use "geometry editor." It will also take a fair bit of time, and I strongly suggest that you start by watching a few tutorials.

To get a spare leg. Load a base figure. Use geometry editor to delete everything on that figure except the leg. Then save it as a new figure. After that you should be able to parent it to anything that you like.

    Best regards,

    Matt

If you use the geometry editor like that keep in mind you'll have to position them in a way to hide or not show the insides, or fabricate some kind of cap.

  • That's exciting!  Just skimmed a couple videos. I didn't realize you could do all that inside DS. Imma let my freak loose:)

    Thank you so much, guys!
