Poses I'm working on, hit a snag.. any suggestions or workarounds?

OK. SO I have this huge pack of poses I'm finally getting around to finishing up but I have this sinking feeling I'm going to need to go back through and save out quite a few of them.

The scenario is that some of the poses I need the translation because of flight poses or kneeling poses but I always, ALWAYS get my XY&Z mixed up. LOL

So say I want to have his legs pop into a kneeling position and for his body to drop to the floor but if the end user has him in another part of the scene instead of dead center how to keep from pissing the end user off by having him pop to dead center while maintaining the drop to floor action?

In the Pose Preset dialog while there individual options there's nothing that's going to make this process easy if I need to go through and individually uncheck or check boxes and you know body parts and all the sub stuff that is entailed to get a body part working right... OMG.
I'll pull my hair out! lol

I usually just choose the Check All Modified Only option which for the most part works fine but I'm really dreading the extra work in getting the figure to stay where it is in the scene but still having the pose preset honor the needed translations to get the figure to the floor or up in the air WITHOUT having it move to the center of the scene....

So looking for a quick work around or I'm going to have to include in the ReadMe file to pose first and then move to where they want the figure to be but you know how many folks actually read the ReadMe's! :-|

Any help or suggestions I could try?

Thanks much!
Richard

When you save a full pose you need to:
1-Uncheck all or check only rotations
    2-Uncheck general
3-Uncheck pose controls (if your going to sell or give away the poses)
    4-check only hip Y translation

With partials the only way I know to do it is to then uncheck the unneeded body parts though I am sure it could be done in a text editor.

Thanks Khory. I found that since some of my poses were for flight and kneeling that I needed to keep, in the General area, the Y translation checked to make sure those positions were in place when clicking the pose preset so the character either lifted up or went down to the ground as expected without moving it to the dead center. Y Y Y Y Y Y Y .... I don't know.... glad I asked! ;-)~

Urm..that is why you use the y on the hip. In general you always want to avoid the general settings as they tend to be more likely to hang around with the next pose and cause havoc. I'm not sure about the other brokerages but it is a nono for a product here.

Ah, I see.... OK. I'll see what's up with that then. Hip Y good, General Y nono!

I think the reason why I thought that the General was fine was that if you choose "Move to floor" that's the General section is where that's recorded rather than the Hip. SO perhaps DAZ needs to change that bit in the Move to Floor to save us poor souls some time making poses.

    Just sayin'

urm yea.. Don't use move to floor...It is one of those "oh my god that is so handy!" things that ends up mucking about with everything afterward. You don't want a set of poses that you have to use a zero figure pose after you try each one.

*spanks DAZ* for not going about making that handy utility more in line with product creation! Grrrrrrrrrrr...

Thanks Khory. I really appreciate your help here! Your da best darlin'! :-)
