Fresh Sale Items Please

There are ususally a lot of products to look through which are on sale. Would it be possible for somthing that is on sale one week, to be NOT on sale again for 4 to 6 weeks? It's boring and a waste of time looking through collections of sale items when you've already decided not to buy them a week or two previously. There are thousands of DAZ products. Why keep featuring the same ones over and over? Now when I see a sale with hundreds of prodcts, instead of being excited, my eyes glaze over and I barely skim what's on sale.

I absolutely agree, nothing in my wish list is ever on sale, some items haven't been on sale for over a year !!

Are you sure? Pretty well everything over 60 days old was on sale at least once during March Madness, and during the PA sale which was less than a year ago.

Hi Richard, I'm quite sure. I added a few toon content several months ago, check few times a week, rarely ever on sale, and if on sale, alway's requires to purchase additional content.

Eample today, I do not desire to purchase Callie 6, to get 60% off 3D universe content. It's alway's buy a new release for sale on older content.

Op states perfectly: There are thousands of DAZ products. Why keep featuring the same ones over and over?

I think the perceived problem there is that there are a lot of items that are only on sale at times when the entire store is on sale. There are a lot of PAs with small catalogs, or catalogs of older product, who never go on sale except as part of major sales like MM, when there's so much on sale that it's almost impossible to go through everything. Especially when other products are being discounted 2 to 3 times as much, as will happen when you get a bigger PA's cat sale overlapping with a wider sale discount.

And the sales that require additional purchases are invisible/inaccurate looking over a wishlist -- how many people checked their wishlists daily throughout March, but not the banners, and so never realized the sale price had gone low enough? I missed things I wanted because PAs names aren't shown on the wishlist, so that can't be easily checked during a PA's sale day.

We keep getting told that most of DAZ's customers aren't on the forums -- how many of those just check their wishlists daily throughout March instead of trying to parse the various sale structures? It's great that all non-new content hit at least a 50%-off sale during March, but if that's not visible on the wishlists? For a lot of people it doesn't count.

...and today, all the sales are either the "buy this to get a discount that" or the "stepped percentage" types.

    IMO: Reach for the Stars has 393 items. It's a 1(30%) 2(40%) 3 (50%) 4 (60%)
Daz doesn't only have to cater to older members, there's always new buyers and for those who arrived in April, they missed March Madness. So with almost 400 items, buying 3 or 4 at 60% is good for the newbies. Agreed though, for us been-around-a-couple-years shoppers it isn't necessarily going to have a wow factor, we're used to it. But it's still a good deal IMO. Can't complain about the opportunity for 60% off. Vendors are very gracious to allow that pricing. That's also why some vendors don't participate, and I don't blame them.

The promotions around a newly released figure will always be related to it to encourage people who are on the fence to take the plunge. Aka, get 30% off Cory, get discounts on the given stores- but it's a sound business practice to relate things to your featured ticket item. I look at these other sales as additionally rewarding folks who have bought the main item. It's gravy.

I personally DID go through every single store listed during MM and with 200+ things in my wishlist, I made it through checking about 80% of them, and all were included. I certainly didn't buy all of them, had to prioritize, but they were there. Example: I did a random check of one I had wishlisted, and the store by Hole, with only TWO items in the store, was included in MM. I bought: http://www.daz3d.com/hot-dog-cart

KickAir has a good point, one that has been mentioned repeatedly, and that's to get the wishlist more functional during sales. There's no way of knowing what's in what category as they aren't marked as discounted in the buy 1, 2, 3 etc sales as the cart does it. We need to know what's in those categories, what might be stacking, etc. Pity the non-forum members.

...alas there are some of us who cannot drop 40 - 50$ on three or four items to get the maximum discount. For me 20$ (after whatever discounts I can get) is a "large" purchase.

I agree that it makes sense to attract newcomers as that is the way to grow your customer base. However, once in a while us "oldsters" would like to get a break too without a lot of strings attached or games to play.

I will admit, the Flash sales are great, especially when items from a particular PA's store on the WL (even Stonemason was featured just before MM).

I love ANTFARM contnet and I own a lot of it, but seriously - how many products, and how many times has ANTFARM stuff been on sale in the last 12 months? Surely there's another vendor who hasn't been on sale for a while. If a vendor is on sale - don't put it back on sale for at least 8 months. It gets really boring.

i couldn't disagree with this more! if i miss a sale from a vendor that I like I don't want to wait almost a year for another sale from that vendor

A year? Some of these vendor's products are on sale every week!

...the first time (in what seemed like ages) I saw Stonemason's store on a Flash sale was just before this year's March Madness. Was nice because I actually was able to clear a few things off the wishlist, some that had been there for a while. Of course left me pretty broke for MM itself.

    "Fresh Sale Items Please"

I thought this was referring to the fact there have been several days when there is NOTHING NEW AT ALL. That sucks. (can I say that?)

Apparently there was a partial change at the beginning of the week, but if you had the new items already you wouldn't have seen it.

..well have this week's weekly freebie but the others have been there for a while. As a matter of fact, save for the normal weekly freebies, the entire current selection is nothing but textures and the magnets that need other content, no standalones (there is also no "hide items" check box on that page).

In fact there are several props if you visit the page without being logged in.

...never bother even looking at the store unless I am logged. Yeah have all of the props already.

Would still be nice to have the "hide/unhide" items owned checkbox on the page. It is there on the Fast Grab page.

If PA products don't go on sale frequently then that would be the PA's option.
