Is this possible? shows in preview but not render

Is it possible to show something in preview but not in render?  for example, this dress for Cookie has these handles visible in render.  I don't mind them in preview but not in render.

Yep,

Select the dress in the Scene pane.

Then on the Surfaces pane, scroll down to the handles and select them.

Zero out everything on the shader for the handles.

Some things won't go to zero so set them as low as they will go.

Set all colors to black.

Remove any maps that may have been put there.

The handles won't show at all using that method I just posted.

Neither preview nor render.

But they will still be selectable and usable.

On the Scene pane, just select the dress and expand it and the handles will be in the list there.

On the Parameters pane you should still see all the adjustments for whatever handle you have selected.
