I apologize if this is a duplicative question. I have had Daz3d for a while but have not had time to use it a lot. I have purchased a few Dax Original characters, including pro bundles and HD add on for Genesis 8.0, plus a number of independent artists' characters.
What is needed to purchase to upgrade these to Genesis 8.1. For example, do I need to purchase the Victoria 8.1 base character or (hopefully not) the whole 8.1 pro pack? Or a new version of the HD add on?

What do you mean by "upgrade them to 8.1"?
As long as you're using DS4.15+ the shape and textures for those characters will work on 8.1 base "as is".
Perhaps I'm confused. If I have Victoria 8.0 or Michael 8.1 (or others), I figured I would at least need to purchase the Victoria (or Michael) 8.1 base character to get the new features.
There is also a nice how to video tutorial on youtube: 'Converting Characters from Genesis 8 to 8.1'
Thanks very much! I'll look for it. I appreciate your advice.
Michael 8.1 and Victoria 8.1 are new characters, they are not updates to Michael 8 and Victoria 8.
Oh, I see. And so I would also need a new pro bundle, HD add on etc.
Reminds me of when I was taking a masonry class a long time ago. Someone got out their drill to screw together some forms. It had a built in led light, which was still kind of a new thing at the time. I said, "Oh damn! Now I need another drill." Got a laugh out of everyone.
Hi,
Richard, We are a production environment having used Carrara for a long time. Last September we switched to DAZ Studio on Mac M1s. We find that iRay renders too slow for our work timeline compared to Carrara and 3DL. Are there currently any 3DL skins available for Michale 8.1? (Please don't think this is a complaint, it's not. It's a business question. Thanks.)
There are no 3Delight settings for the specific Michael 8.1 materials, as far as I know.
