Gyrowheel poses

I've got this set of poses Hierarchical Poses for Gyrowheel | Daz 3D but I cannot get them to work. I've tried selecting both the character and the wheel to run the poses on, but they're all mute. And the log file says that it cannot find a root, whatever that means. Anyone knows how to deploy these poses on a character and on the vehicle itself?

The error message suggests  1) try parenting the gyrowheel to the figure's hip or 2) try parenting the figure to the gyrowheel.  Something must be part of the hierarchy of something else....

Struggled with this for a while tonight. Glad I got these cheap from the grab bag.

1. Don't try it on an 8.0 figure. Even though the gyrowheel itself and the clothing is an 8.0 kit the poses kit is strictly 8.1. You'll get an error if you try to apply one of these poses to an 8.0.

2. Load the gyrowheel at 0/0/0. Load the figure at 0/0/0. Now select the figure and use the gyrowheel "pose zero" so she's standing on the wheel pedals.

3. Parent the gyrowheel to whichever of her FEET will still be on a pedal when the pose you want is applied. I haven't tried all the poses yet but I THINK the right foot is the one that always makes contact with the wheel in all of them. If I'm wrong and there's one where only the left foot is still touching the wheel in that pose, then you know what to do.

4. Select the figure again and apply the pose you want. Now it should work!! Should affect both the figure and the wheel.
