To the best of my knowledge there is no complete userguide/reference manual for any version of Daz Studio.

It looks like the last printable Daz Studio User Guide was for Daz Studio version 4.6 (link below). Hopefully, they will update the User Manual for DS 4.20 and also for DS version 5 when it is released.

DAZ Studio 4.x User Guide (PDF - 22.7 MB)

So the user manual is only 96 pages? That's nothing for a very complex program!

Thanks for this link. Even though it is small and quite old, it does a very good job of explaining some of tha basics that I had missed.

They should do a complete update to there manual. Giving detail use of every feature in the software has and how to use it. It's great that they can produce the software but they should have a updated manual to support it as well.

Agreed to some extent... but that'll require human resources, knowledge, enthusiasm, persistence, even some funding, so on and so forth...

Seemingly people prefer to using ChatGPT nowadays... probably only some old timers incl. me are still willing to read long PDF or sth. like that.

...and as we've discovered for Carrara, it requires a Good Software writer. No just anyone can take on such a task.

I printed out an old one back in 2006 or 7... somewhere in there that is 300 pages (compared to Carrara's 863 which was already written by the previous company Eovia except for the new Daz 3d changes) and hardbound it myself. I'm glad to have it even though it's completely outdated now. I just like books - and especially nostalgic owners manuals of software I love.

I also printed and bound the Bryce 5 manual. So whatever time frame that was, was when I did all of this.

Since then I've purchased The Carrara Studio 3 and 5 Handooks from Amazon. I love these manuals and I'm bummed that 'the written word' is becoming such a bygone era.

Jay's Masterclass is very much like an owner's manual - so I agree that that's the place to go if you really want to peruse a Daz Studio Owner's Manual. And his WP Guru YouTube channel is another wealth of Daz Studio help and wisdom.

Along with the Masterclass, the rest of Daz 3d's Help Tutorials section can be pretty helpful too.

Digging into it a bit... yeah. My DAZ|STUDIO ARTIST GUIDE is for D|S 1.7  (Win XP/Mac OS 10 era)

    Cool book though! LOL

The Carrara manual I printed out was Carrara 7 User Guide 2008 Revision G

  • Daz Studio wiki manual would be very nice but it would expose too many bugs!!! LOL
