Working With HD Detail Sliders

I have a question related to the HD options for Genesis 2 figures:

Let’s say I want to dial up the Olympia Head HD Details, but I don't want the effect to apply to some parts of the face (for example, her ears or nose—whatever). Is there a way I can mask or protect specific parts of the HD detail target (in this case the face) from being affected by the slider?

Based on the lack of replies I'm guessing I either asked something extremely stupid or not possible to do in Studio (or probably both). LOL

I was thinking this might be possible with a geometry shell and applying an opacity mask on the HD shell over a base level morph. I haven't tried it but that is my idea.

I don't think it would work as shell follows underlying geometry
HD morphs are like any morphs either full body or part body, if head, whole head

So far as I remember, you generally get an HD morphing dial for the body and head. You can apply them to either of those parts, but not specific individual sections.
