Hi all
After a post about "what building is this"
I would like to know what is the best format to import into Daz Studio (open pandora's box and stands back) from this list
3DS MAX
BLENDER
CINEMA 4D
HOUDINI
UNITY
UNREAL
the less work I have to do with texturs the better
I may be doing some kit bashing in Hexagon with it,
thanks ahead of time

Is OBJ not an option? That's the ideal way to go, because then you could import them directly into DS instead of having to load them into one of the other programs and then export them. And I'm sorry, but there's no getting around having to do a bunch of texture work on a Kitbash set. It would be easier to download one of the other formats, load it into whatever program you have access to, and just render it there, but I understand if you don't want to do that.
obj and fbx generally work
Check the model is UV mapped.
sorry my bad I missed off obj and fbx
If this is from a Kitbash 3D item, do blender. I've tried the obj option from there and it didn't work as good. Open it in blender and get the buildings you want lined up how you want as it's easier to move those buildings in that program. Then export the obj from there and bring into daz. It's 50/50 if the materials come over, but if they don't, you just have to manually do it which isn't too long a process. I usually retexture anyways with different materials.
thanks benniewoodell will try that
No prob! If you have any questions, just post it here and I'd be happy to try and help! I love using Kitbash 3D stuff. I'm actually right now setting up a scene for an animated film I'm doing using the fairy tale, dark fantasy, valhalla, and treasure island sets
Thanks benniewoodell, you may regret that offer
