All Dials Lead to Angelina Jolie

Anyone else have the problem that if you mix and match head morphs long enough, you will inevitably end up with a character that looks a lot like Angelina Jolie? I get that she is one of a few archetypical beauties of a generation, but why Angelina so much and not, say, Salma?

  • That sounds more like your brain defaulting to "Angelina Jolie's facial features are attractive to me so that's what I'll create". Cause no female figure I've ever dialed up has looked like her.

  • There's probably some truth to that, but by that logic, all of my female characters would end up looking like Salma Hayek :) I think it's the preponderance of characters that are somehow based on Angelina in varying degrees from the dead ringers like Sharon and Davida and several others whose names I can't recall,  to others that are only passing likenesses. Her features are certainly everywhere.

  • Yeah I`ve got same syndrome . Not sure if that intended or I couldnt find better muse LOL

    Can't say I've noticed that.

But I will say Angelina has probably the most look-a-like characters across all generations. Can't throw a stone 'round here without hitting an Angelina look-a-like. Don't know what that means, beyond... people seem to like Angelina.

There is a bit of the Lara Croft character portrayed by Angelina in the movies that has some impact on some characters here as well

I have noticed the same on my system, although maybe because I'm using W7, my characters don't look like Angelina, but no matter how I start, they end up looking like sisters.

I don't know what you're dial spinning, but from my experience, if you dial too many character morphs in too strongly, you end up with a figure where the different parts end up way out of proportion with each other. You basically end up with an alien-looking figure with a rail-thin body. I try to keep the sum of all character percentages dialed in to a figure equal to or below 100%. The more character shaping dials you apply to a figure beyond that, the greater the work/shaping needed for individual areas to keep everything within a reasonable proportion. Sometimes you don't want to apply the same character morphs to the body that you apply to the head because they just don't go well together. Victoria 8 is one example that I can think of when using multiple character morphs. Her body morphs can result in making a character too tall/thin.

This makes sense,  because it become self fulfilling.  Also that would influence the characters the user would buy and then use to dial spin.  if you buy five Digital Touch or Mousso chracters and try to dial spin them  you get repetition happening because they are all so similar.

In contrast some other user may purchase other kinds of characters.  It would depend what the starting morphs are in the first place. For example using mabel or Edie will never get you to jolie.

What do you mean "mix and match head morphs"?  Do you mean mix pre-made characters that you've purchased, or mixing random nose morphs and eye morphs etc?  If you buy characters that look like Jolie, if you mix those, you're still going to end up with Jolie.
