Oh noooo, not again...!

Hello everybody
I run in to a problem with DAZ-Studio all the time lately: I'm organizing  some for my often used Stuff in the Custom Menu (via "Create custom  Action...") and arrange it in the "Workspace customization". This is quite a daunting Job until everything looks again how I want it (logically grouped with sub menues and so) and all works perfect, but then suddenly when I start DAZ-Studio again, the menue is screwed up. all submenues are empty and in the customization you can see, that it suddenly can't find the stuff anymore (I didn't move anything at all). This is very frustrating since it is always more than a full evening of work to fix it all again and this is at least the second time this year, that this happens and it happened several times last year.
Does anyone know why such things happen?
Where is this all stored anyway?
Can I fix that or do I have to do all the tedious work again?
and can I make a Backup somehow, that if this happen's again, I can bring it all back some how?

Any help on that would be much appreciated, because I'm really, really anoyed by that.
Many thanks

There is a bug in the current General Release, 4.20.0.2, which causes layout saves to fail if there are no current files. I'm not sure why it is happening to you, since you presumably have the saved files, but the workaround is given here https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/7384276/#Comment_7384276 , though it is hoped that the fix in the current Public Build will be effective and will allow an updated General Release to be issued without the problem.

    Hi Richard
Thank you for your reply. I'll gladly look into the workaround you posted. How ever I'm still on the Release 4.15.0.30. This is due to the fact that in the past, with newer Releases (even if they are minor) I often experienced problems with older plugins, and actually I'm from a generation that learned the hard way:"never touch a running system" (That's why Microsoft's policy of automatically screwing around in my system with permanent updates makes me mad down to the blood).
So obviously earlier Versions of DAZ-Studio hat this problem as well.
Does the procedure you described mean, if I save the listed files, I have a kind of Backup, with which I could restore the settings once they got screwed up?

Thank you for all your help

The issue is in the current version only, so your issue is something else - possibly daz Studio is not shutting down cleanly, possibly there is an issue writing to the folder, possibly security or other utility software is resetting the files.
