DIM will not connect - the log indicates "WARNING: dzvalentinaobjectdatabase.cpp(38): DB Register Open error: Cannot establish VC_Connection with remote server.
Make sure the server address and port number are correct."
No problems with my internet access.

What operating system are you running? Windows (version)? Mac?
What, if any, security software?
That's the Valentina Content Management System - it's a local connection, not an internet connection. Are you even using the Valentina system, rather than PostgreSQL? Is there an actual problem with DIM in operation, or are you just looking at the log entry?
Well spotted Richard. I recently carried out a major Windows and applications re-installation (including all the DS stuff) and may well have not configured things correctly.
Each time I tried to download anything DIM just crashed which is why I checked the log.
What security software (anti-virus, firewall etc.) are you using? Which version of Windows are you running, and is your account an admin account or a standard user account?
I use Win 7 pro with MSE and Malwarebytes and have a user account.
I have reinstalled DIM and all now appears to be well.
