Dirt shells for Genesis 8.1.

I have mixed experiences with using dirt shells on 8.1 characters, and generally, I fall back to applying dirt in PS postwork - any recommendations on this?

Mixed how? Scripts may not recognise the new surface groups, leaving the torso and back of the ehad untouched, but presets should work correctly. Of course if the 8.1 character is using the new 8.1 UVs there may well be seams or scaling oddities.

Which products are you using? if the shell is based on the G8 UV mapping, then it might look off on G8.1 because of the different UV mapping.

I haven't found any dirt geoshells for G8.1, so I've tried the Skin Doctor products for G3 and G8. Either it crashes Daz, or nothing happens, or sometimes it leaves the figure with white masks.

Just posted a similar question in the NEW USER thread. Am I correct that any shell product won't work in animation? That you need to pose a figure, then generate the shell, then add the "dirt" and this makes use in animation impossible?

Geoshells follow the figure through posing, so I see no reason they wouldn't work with animation.

The PDF instructions of Touch of Dirt say it won't work with animation. I assume it is because the "shell" has to be pose specific, so you need to pose first, then create a shell to which the dirt is applied. When you move the underlying figure, apparently you don't move the surrounding shell. Maybe there is a way they could be married?  But I don't think shells have any bones.
