GNBD Underwater Brushes

I was going to try using these brushes with GIMP but I cannot find the brushes anywhere. Does anyone have an idea where they would be filed?

According to the ReadMe it should be here:

If you used DIM to install then top-level folder is wherever you have defined as the Photoshop SW location in DIM, I think.

  • Yea, I don't have/want photoshop. I am trying to get it to work with GIMP. I did find the file, but I am still working on how to import it to GIMP.

Do you mean you don't know where to place the .abr file in order to be able to use it in GIMP? Try google search, e.g. ".abr in gimp" and you should find plenty of help.

.ABR brushes work fine in GIMP, you can put the folder pretty much anywhere and just tell GIMP which folder to use, assuming you are using GIMP 2.10 then the settings are from the Edit menu, EDIT - Preferences - Folders - Brushes. Note that you can put the bushes in a sub-folder under the main folder to make it easier to see what you have and GIMP will find them. I have a lot of Ron's brushes and they are split into their various folders in the brushes - deviney - name.

    Hope this helps

Further to the above GIMP can be a bit slow starting sometimes if you have lots of extra brushes, fonts etc. installed so I have all the brushes in an 'unused' folder and simply copy the ones I want into the 'brushes' folder when needed, click the 'refresh' button under the brushes toolbox (green circular clockwise arrow) to refresh the available brushes without having to restart GIMP.
