[Foreground Blends by Esha] This product doesn't make any sense.
Every time I load a ground patch and try to apply a material it errors out.

Just tried it. No error occured. Have you read the guide that comes with it?
I can load things with it, but I'm lucky to get it to show up in a render. I agree there needs to be a tutorial. I've had more success with the grass and no success with the ground. And it seems nearly impossible to get the dForce part to work.
It comes with a tutorial/guide, which looks pretty detailled: http://docs.daz3d.com/lib/exe/fetch.php/public/read_me/index/61039/61039_foreground_blends_guide.pdf
There are also threads about the product, no idea if they are of any help:
The product is pretty complex. The pdf explains some of the functions, but there is very little detail on the workflow. I spent 3 hours of trial and mostly error trying to get the grass to show up, and falloff the way I wanted.
There are multiple sections that apply to some items and not others. It's not as simple as, create a ground patch and add textures at will, as the PDF describes.
