Ares Armour

Nice.  The first time I plan to buy a new release for a while.  I would have preferred a male version - or the addition of a male version, but maybe I can do something with that.  While the armour may not be historically accurate (I wouldn't know), it at least looks like something that's practical and functional e.g. no exposed soft bits or stiletto heels.  The weapon set looks good too, no great big chips missing from the cutting edge of the blade which most weapon sets seem to have.  It's good.  I'll buy it.

See Chumley's post below for link and image (I forgot that bit).

Guilty.  I shall go don sackcloth and ashes and beat myself bloody.

shouldn't it really be Athena's armour or something though since Ares is a guy?

What is that supposed to be? A Greco-Roman mixed uniform? For women? With the name of a male god? Oh please.

But the weapons are looking fine.

How is it so confusing that female warriors would also follow Ares?

Greeks had only one god of bloody war. It's not a lot of choice here.

Athena was for those time where it was about thinking and strategy.

The spear has weirdly wide blade. I'm in no shortage of other spear models, though.

I like the set, it should be converting between M/F just fine.

It has Hollywood "historical" flick vibe.

Edit: I realize it's ,khm, "inspired" by a video game, but that game has this vibe as well.

Personally, I have no issue with it since Ares is the god of war and battle is his purview, and this is a set made for that arena. And while Athena did participate in battles, she was more the tactician than the actual warrior, as PixelSploiting just mentioned.

@Pixelsploiting - at first I felt the same way about the spear until I did some research and discovered that the Greek spear blade was shaped this way. Perhaps this one appears a little large, but it's not outside the realm of possible. I think it'll be a nice addition to your collection. wink

I think it's a fun group of fantasy-inspired-by-reality products and I enjoyed working on it very much. Cichey3D did a really excellent job modeling everything. I'm glad people are enjoying the products. It was nice getting back to building a fighting pose set. I've missed that.

It's waaaayyyy to wide to be in realm of possibilities. They were leaf-shaped, but only this leaf-shaped:

But there are already sets with nice spears in the store, so I don't mind this one much. I think the spear shape also might be made after a video game.

Spartan set has a nice Greek spear, except it needs some scaling up:
