Given that list of vendors you can't purchase from and all the other rules, the coupon is not of much use.

Agreed, especially with the "must buy" something to activate it. I'm not spending $12.00 to get $3.00 off the one thing I want. If this was a blanket 30% off coupon for anything that isn't on-sale, it might have been a nice gesture, but add in a requirement to buy something I don't want on top of the other restrictions, I have to say thanks, but I think I'll pass.
I can report that from my albeit limited testing that following these conditions does allow for the coupon to work.
However, I think many people are confused because items that have "special offers" attached to them aren't easily identifiable. Crosschecking a potential purchase over 30 PAs by going to each product and banner page, plus with significant DAZ Originals overlaps, makes the 40% coupon a little too difficult to use.
Do I think 40% off is great? Absolutely. But at this point, trying to make the coupon work is making most people's heads spin.
I think a list of PAs that we can get the april showers discount on would help here are several ones i found that work, also the new Ratchet up to the Future items will work as the starter new items.
(Look for their indivudual and non-daz original, and non PC+, items, these are the ones i found so far in my 15 minutes of searching)

I was thankful for the coupon. It worked for me. I used it to get some items from a vendor (Mmoir) whose products I like but I hadn't seen on sale (maybe I missed the rotation). Appreciate the general flexibility of this coupon, Daz.
Flexible? It hasn't worked on any of the combinations I've tried, or for many others who have posted in the thread. That's kind of the opposite of the definition of 'flexible'. It's certainly discouraged me from 'Going Crazy' as it advertises.
The April Showers Coupon will work if you:
- Purchase Vintage Rose for Genesis 2 Females
- Dress G2F with her lovely shoes
- Click her heels together 3 times
- Recite "There is no place like DAZ" over and over while you ...
- Load up your shopping cart
- Key in the coupon code and check out
Oh wait, sarcasm? Sorry, hard to tell on the Internets.
Certainly being a PC+ item makes it more of a bargain but there we go into the rabbit hole of clauses where a coupon doesn't apply because of that restriction except on the full moon when Sagittarius is waning etcetcetc.
:shut: just got the Minotaur for like 13. something.
the vintage noir had a nice cameo for the edwardian accessories, prolly woulda bought it anyway.
mec4d flash sale. iz a busy night
It was nice to get some OBSCURE (read virtually never on sale) items from my Wishlist purchased using the discount.
My wishlist now tends to be filled with items that I stumble on or from smaller PAs or even older PAs, so it was worth it to me to finally get items on sale that hardly ever go on sale.

Dear Daz....
Would have been nice to send me an email ---- telling me the coupon you had emailed me was no longer valid.*
----
I believe offering something and then changing it, used to be called bait and switch.
----
If I really gave a damn, I might do some investigating ... as to the legality of that.
you did "PUT IT IN WRITING" and then not honor it.
---
Not local commerce but "interstate commerce" meaning Federal rules might apply.
---
But you continue to drive home the point that I really don't need more of this stuff.
Partially because I don't need to spend time wading through pages of stuff only to find out it's not really on sale.
---
*That's called customer service.
---
hi all hum check this out ! 30%off to 50%off new only
and now nothing off to 50%off ok no logic
And this is why when I get the thank you coupons I just ignore them when they have all the restrictions. I believe that is what DAZ actually wants. They don't want us to actually use the coupons. But they can say hey look we give our folks coupons.
Now don't get me wrong I love it when DAZ does a straight forward sale or a PA is on Flash I buy those when ever I have the funds. So I will say here thanks to the PAs and to DAZ for those, It really helps in this tight economy and makes me more apt to buy on release when I can.
the flash sales tick me off...
----
the idea that checking in once a day every day is not going to let me see some of the best sales turns the process of buying into a crap shoot.
----
And then question becomes why bother checking regularly if it doesn't net you a complete look.
---
I used to check in every night at 11 pm my time (12 daz) to see the new stuff ...
lately the rollover to new stuff isn't completed for several hours.
So I try to log on by 10:30 so I can check what didn't change right away the night before and get sort of a look at the new stuff.
---
But since they manage to kill all deals right at 12 their time... a lot of the daily deals end up being 20 hour deals.
A few years ago DAZ used to run 24-hour sales at least 48 hours to make sure they didn't do that to anyone . . . later, keeping anybody from taking advantage of consecutive day's overlap became more important to them.
Like the recent ad that had no clue about the difference between a "dryad" and a "druid"?
I've seen a number of grammatical bloopers, but since I believe the artists write their own product pages, I figured English was their second language. In which case many do very well.
And the 3d aspect has no linguistic requirement.
Like the recent ad that had no clue about the difference between a "dryad" and a "druid"?
Hmm Where I live (in Wales UK) our druids are very rarely dry
but sometimes the humor is....
*chuckles*
I agree that you have to check too many times a day to get really good deals. You could say that it is a full time job to get the deals.
Oh well, luckily I have the time for doing so.
I have to say it was somewhat depressing and shocking to know that I was among the top customers. After checking I found that I spend $313 in April :red: . The good news though, is that the mean average discount over that was 83% :) (pc freebies not counted, pc coupons included/used)
To those complaining: it isn't fair to complain about rewards. DAZ gave enough time and compatible working sales for this discount. I was able to find some items in my wishlist that worked and were in sales that you could combine. with a pc+ newbie I wanted it resulted in a total discount of 73,17% (the pc+ item was 73%, so it was more pulling the discount than driving).
I have to admit that you might need some luck finding discounted items which you want.
Well that's interesting. I didn't hit quite that low overall, but that's because literally half of the dollars I spent for the month were for the big iClone bundle which was "only" 50% off. Even so, I beat 75% overall, and with the iClone bundle taken out of the equation, my average discount ended up being almost exactly the same as yours: 83%
One has to wonder if that's the real number DAZ expects to get out of most sales?
I have no idea (and deliberately not looking) at how much money I have spent.
====
I do have 5544 items in the install list... although most of the items have a poser and a daz component.
So probably only have 2500 items....
---
I mainly get irked when things get off the wall ... like getting a coupon... leaving the tab open so I would remember to use it and then discovering the rules on the coupon were not the rules in effect and so my use of it was not valid.
---
Since I got bounced out of the purchase with the couple fast grab items...
I did not put time in today going back through a few thousand items to see if there was anything I wanted.
so I go back: what the heck to look at the fast grabs again... but nope the ones from earlier are not the ones up for a few days that never change (despite going fast) ... new stuff .... not interested.
Huh? These Fast Grabs were updated today. Sometimes Fast Grab gets updated twice a day.
What are you getting at?
when I tried my order last night at 2 pm with the coupon... it wouldn't take the coupon despite my order matching the coupon...
---
so I logged into the forum to see what the problem was ... and it was the rules had changed since the coupon was issued ....
---
but I decided to go back in and look at the fast grabs again and yep, apparently a multiple update day.
---
here's the snapshot of the shopping cart from May 8, 22 hours ago ... I did buy the one item ... so they were the flash sale that came up at midnight last night.
---
turns out that even thought my coupon said, purchase a new item, but for the discount no new, no PC, no cards... they added the not on sale to the deal later..
----
If this was just a coupon or a regular DAZ sale I wouldn't mind so much.
But as a "reward" for spending obscene amounts of money during the month of March/April? (Who am I kidding throw in January and February too!)
Pretty stringy and stingy in my humble opinion.
